An issue that is defied about a lot is whether kids should be allowed to play travel sports or not. Many people think kids should not play travel sports because there are more risks to injuries than rec league. When kids play travel sports they have fun and learn new stuff, so why should people take away that privilege. Because people think rec sports are better for their kids they are wrong because there are many more pros than there are cons. Kids should play travel sports because they will set up kids for more success some reasons are, kids will stay healthier, have more academic success, and they will help with success in a kids later career.

Statistics show when one plays travel sports they will do better on tests. An article called the BBC cited a university study conducted a study on about 5,000 students and adolescents, which found connections between staying fit and academic success in English, math, and science, also discovered an increase in performance for every extra 17 minutes boys exercised, and 12 minutes girls exercised (Admin). Because of this, the kids that play travel sports will learn intelligence in travel sports will have benefits in school also, kids usually do not care in school but in travel sports they will have a love for it and have fun learning. Playing travel sports not only give a kid fun, but they have other benefits. For example, exercise and development is not the only benefit to playing travel sports, but some studies that have been done show that the children have better chances for college and their life career (Global Team). When children play travel sports they will have better chances for college, because when kids play travel sports people will want them on their team and scouts might want them and kids can get into top-notch colleges such as Harvard or Yale.
