Should Parkour Be Considered An Individual Sport?
In this world, we’ve all seen people trying some acrobatic stuff to impress others. These people should start doing Parkour. Parkour is a training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. The question we are all wondering is if Parkour should be considered a sport at the same level of other individual sports? In this essay, I will argue that Parkour is a sport such as any individual sport for multiple reasons. For me, I also consider it a form of art because it’s very fluid and done in the city while learning the culture.

First, Parkour should be known as a sport because it’s a very demanding activity and all these movements (jump, climb, run) require a lot of athleticisms to practice this discipline.

To those of you who say marching band should not be considered a sport because it doesn’t compete, that isn't true. Marching band should definitely be considered a sport. There are competitions within schools. And guess what, there is scoring and ranking. Also, if carrying and blowing into a heavy instrument while walking a mile in seven minutes isn't physically exhausting, then maybe you just are more athletic than average. You must be physically and mentally healthy for marching band. Also, you must practice a lot and memorize music and drills. You also go to practice at school as much, if not possibly more, than a football team.…

Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) are “essential for all physical activities and when developed in school years are often maintained in later life” (Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW [BOSTES], 2007). Hence, the tabloid afternoon focuses on three categories of FMS, locomotor skills, manipulative skills and games (BOSTES, 2007). According to Schmidt and Wrisberg (2008), increased “proficiency in motor learning is evident when performance learning is incorporated into events increases a student’s proficiency in motor learning”. Thus, the event should provide an engaging, rewarding experience that allows students to display their abilities by participation in activities involving different sequences of FMS.…

Defining something as a "sport" is not always as easy as you might think. This is because there really aren't any official guidelines as to what makes a sport a sport. Personally, I believe that a true sport should consist of team effort toward a goal, physical fitness and activity, and some form of formal scoring system.…

    John Marquis On Abortion

Marquis argues that killing a fetus deprives it of a valuable future/future like ours, and concludes by saying abortion is not morally permissible. I agree with Marquis’s argument that it is wrong to kill a fetus through abortion because I believe that they have a valuable future as all humans do. Abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, which is most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. (dictionary.com) Furthermore I do agree with Marquis that majority of deliberate abortions are seriously immoral, however I do believe that in some cases it is permissible, for instance choosing to have an abortion after being sexually assaulted or due to life threatening circumstances.…
