Introduction:
Out of all the school dances here at Sir John A Macdonald, there is only one missing; that’s the Valentine’s Day Dance. Our school celebrates just about every holiday; however we think that Valentine’s Day is one of the best dances to have at junior high schools. We feel that having Valentine’s Day dance will have more students interested in coming to more dances, and on the plus side we will have more money donated for our school. This topic should be asked upon SJAM students because we feel that our dances are too over rated, and get boring and boring every time. Anyway majority of teens in junior high have or are in a relationship, so why not spark up the mood and have a loving dance for couples to enjoy?
Conclusion:
This topic is controversial, because since our school is so multicultural not all cultures endure in having Valentine’s Day celebrations at school. However we feel that just because few people don’t agree with it doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate it anyway. Another key factor on why it may be so controversial is that teachers don’t like us to be so touchy and close to each other, but why have the dance program at school if we’re going to have to dance with the opposite sex anyway? Valentine’s Day dance will have students take what they learned from dance programs and use it in the dances.
Hypothesis:
I think that majority of SJAM students will say “yes” to have a Valentine’s Day dance, because most of us like to slow dance and have fun. Majority of the students in junior high schools have or are in a relationship, so most will think it’s a great idea.
