Should Smoking Be Banned Completely?
SHOULD SMOKING BE BANNED COMPLETELY?

Today, life is so complex; people have more stress than ever before so many of them find smoking as a solution to relax. As you all know, smoking is harmful, it is dangerous for your health and it even affect to economy so I think that smoking should be banned completely.

Firstly, smoking has been shown to have a bad effect on health. Have you ever wondered that how many people die each year because of smoking? Well, according to World Health Organization (WHO), tobacco kills 5.4 millions people a year and it is predicted to kill 1 billion people in the 21st century if current smoking trends continue. People who smoke regularly are easily to suffer many diseases such as heart disease, bronchitis or lung cancer. Moreover, not only smokers but also non-smokers can suffer health problems if they breathe the smoke from smokers around them. Scientists have proved that non-smokers have to suffer the same risks as smokers themselves.

Secondly, smoking also affect to economy. In fact, nobody can refuse benefits that tobacco industry brings to many countries. Governments get profits by taxing cigarettes. Tobaccos industry also provides jobs for people from developing countries. But besides these benefits, the cost of smoking is enormous. People who addict to tobacco pay much money to buy cigarettes a year. A further issue is that governments around the world have to pay billion dollars because of the large number of people who need treatment in hospitals for health problems.

In conclusions, smoking may have some benefits but it has more harm. If anyone who just cares about the benefits of smoking, they should know that every 6.5 seconds, a smoker dies. The world will become better and no more people will have to die because of health problem caused by smoking if it is banned completely. Everyone should not smoke to have a better health for you and people around you.

Smoking cigarettes can cause lung problems. Both first-hand and second-hand smokers are affected by cigarette smoke. Scientific findings and researches show that the chemicals in cigarettes, apart from the smoke, can lead to health problems such as lung cancer. Smoking cigarettes should be banned in public places. In public places, more people, both young and old, can be exposed to the smoke from cigarettes. My position differs from those who might say that smoking altogether should not be banned. My position is that smoking in public places should be banned. It does not include smoking in private places like homes.
