Yes it should! If we sentence murderers to death, what makes us different from them? Yes, we are not killing an innocent person, but ending someone life should not be up to us. I also believe that if someone is vicious enough to kill someone that they should spend the rest of their life locked up thinking about what they have done. The death penalty is giving some people the easy way out. In the end sentencing an individual to death is just not morally right. In my opinion there are some facts about the death penalty. First of all, I think that it is very expensive and it may cause financial problems. Another problem with death penalty is that it is not justice but revenge. Yet another problem is that many innocent people may get killed because of use of false and unverified evidence. My opinion, as you can very clearly see above, is strong towards abolishing the death penalty. Secondly, the death penalty is often used in a disproportional manner against the different unprivileged, racial, political, and religious groups. A study has shown by the governor of Maryland states that, “Defendants who killed white victims were more likely to advance to a penalty trial and are more likely to be sentenced to death than those who killed a black. So, probably there are more and more reasons that death penalty should be abolished among our nation. Finally, once a crime has been committed, further death should not have to take place in our society anymore. It is understandable that a grieving family member needs closure, but isn 't life in prison enough? Murdering a murderer does not justify the fact that the crime has been committed. You cannot just recognize that he/she has committed a crime, and then put them to death. This shows that you have no affection for human life itself and this is what we can call revenge. In conclusion, I think everyone should pay the consequences for a crime that has been
