Should You Ensure The Safety Of Your Fleet Of Trucks Or Trailers?
Owning a truck or a fleet of trucks and even a fleet of trailers can be quite a responsibility. Your company's trucks may be on the roads all day and possibly all night. With that much travelling it is imperative that you ensure that your trucks and trailers are in the best condition possible. What should you do to ensure the safety of your fleet of trucks and trailers?

Firstly, you need to ensure that your trucks are serviced regularly and are roadworthy. If you are the owner of a transport business or courier company, how often should you service your trucks? Oil and water need to be replaced or topped up. If your truck doesn't have sufficient oil or water running through the engine, it can have an adverse effect on the truck. It could even seize the engine which can cause more damage such as having to replace it altogether.

The truck's battery needs to be tested to ensure that there is sufficient power in the battery.

Carry out a thorough brake inspection. This is so important because many trucks on our roads recently end up in an accident due to the brakes failing.

Check the wheel alignment to ensure that there is no over-steer or under-steer. This is critical during turning motions.

Conduct a drive shaft check to ensure that it is completely functional.

Check radiator or cooling functionality in the truck. Although this is not critical, it is good to have it in good working order to avoid any problems.

Modern trucks are subjected to a computerized engine analysis. This will check all the facets of the engine that is being monitored by electronic methods. If there are any issues, this will appear on the computer and can then be remedied
