Senior John King played Shrek. At times I really felt like John was Shrek, but he did lose it a couple times. He didn't quite nail the accent though, he could do it at certain times but it was not consistent. His best scene was the scene with Donkey, where he tells Donkey that he lives alone, thinking that Donkey betrayed him. He did a fantastic job at playing Lord Farquaad. He had a way with the audience that had them applauding from the moment he got on stage and from the moment he left the stage. Both of his songs were good. He was limited in choreography, as he was on his knees the whole time he was on stage. His costume was so perfectly executed, it really brightened his character. His acting was good, he really became Lord Farquaad. My only negative critique is he looked at the audience and talked to the audience a lot, and with doing that it could’ve taken away from the plot as it is a play, not a stand up comedy act. I would give him a 9 out of 10 for his portrayal of Lord Farquaad, and 8 out of 10 for acting and singing
