Thank you so much for all that you do for Howard County. Mount Hebron High School is greatly appreciative of your help in creating a better school environment. The 2,000 dollar grant has been used to create a native plant garden in the senior courtyard. We decided that native plants would be the best plan as it conserves water, time, and money. This way we could do more with the money that was graciously given. It would be our greatest honor to have you attend the Mount Hebron ribbon cutting ceremony in the early fall of 2017. You would be able to see all the effort and work that the Mount Hebron staff and students have put into this project. We thank you for your time and we really hope that you will be able to…
Colonial Williamsburg is an open window into the past, as it depicts many significant social and political groups. This educational museum, which is the biggest living one on Earth, has had plenty of significant historic structures that have benefitted leaders and the citizens themselves. Bruton Parish Church, the Capitol, the Governors Palace, and the Magazine have all had important roles in the past, but which one is important enough to be made into a commemorative coin? Although every one of these buildings were crucial during colonial times, are relevant today, and reflect on the motto, ” That the future may learn from the past.” , the Magazine deserves the spot for holding a majority of the soldier’s weapons, stating independence, and explaining how and why people used and organized their weapons.…

We have the bible, pictures of the school, the Episcopal and American flag, and a icon. The bible symbolizes the christianity of the school, and shows our love for God. The pictures of the school will show the future people what our school looks like, and will provide some pictures that will be very valuable in the future. We put the Episcopal flag in the time capsule because we are an Episcopal school. We want the flag to be one of the most important things in our time capsule. We also put the American flag in the time capsule because we are proud to be an American school. The icon was done by our incredible art teacher. It took her very long to finish, but we were all very amazed by the beautiful and sacred…
Sadly, I did not take a picture of the one there so my family could not tell me if it was still the same one or if it had been changed. In a few months or next year, I want to go back and see if they change the exhibit they have set up in the upstairs room and take a picture of the eagle. Everything in this museum we can take the time to compare to something that we have now and how much it has changed. Some of the history they had showed how it changed over time, like all the different buttons they had on display. Not all pieces of history have known meanings, sometime we can guess what they were used for.…
Why buy an American made vehicles you ask? I’ll tell you why because buying American made vehicles creates American made jobs. Everyone knows that American made vehicle’s make a distinctive sound. Take for instance the Ford mustang and the Chevy corvette. Who doesn’t like the sound of these vehicles or design? A few things I will discuss about American made manufactures will be the quality they put forth in designing these vehicles, the job security it helps with in America and how American manufactures have now stepped up to the plate with their new innovated designs for the auto industry.…
Thank you Dr. Hammond for leading the Eagle Charge and thanks to everyone here today for coming to help celebrate this great accomplishment. I would also like to thank all of you who have played a role in helping me along the path to achieving the rank of Eagle Scout especially my parents who have supported me throughout my journey. I most probably wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am today without your support. I would also like to thank my Scout Master Mr. Newhouse for not only helping me achieve my goals but also for dedicating your time and energy to the rest of the scouts of troop 5 so that they may also succeed on their path to Eagle. Finally, I would like to that The Boy scouts of America for proving an organization to educate young people to become productive, responsible, and more citizens in the community.…
The Arlington national cemetery is a beautiful place, full of people who helped not just me, but all of us live wonderful privileged, free lives. I have a little bit of a connection to these people as my father is a veteran, as are many people buried in the cemetery. I feel a significant amount of people overlook the titles and names on the gravestones, just saying “oh it's just another person”, but I notice something else. I notice people who risked their whole lives for our country, resulting in my wanting to show respect. The people buried here have earned a special place in my heart, which I would like to have the chance to show to people.…
This first item or artifact that shows off my experiences and gifts at school is my Certificate of Excellence for achieving Honour Roll for grade 11 in the 2015-2016 school year. During this school year, everything was new to me, the environment, language, the way of teaching, everything.I wasn’t expecting that I will be in the Honour Roll because I was new here and I don’t have any ideas on how to be in Honour Roll. This artifact is very important for me and it is included in my portfolio because it is the fruit of my hardwork. I worked hard to have a high marks and to make my parents proud. This artifact proves that I am a Hardworking person.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…
Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…
