SIGNIFICANCE OF PERSONAL HYGIENE
I. Introduction According to Oxford Dictionary 8th edition, personal stands for personal belongings while hygiene is keeping yourself and things around you clean, in order to prevent disease. So personal hygiene is keeping ourselves and our personal belongings clean in order to prevent infection of diseases by practicing some actions. The personal hygiene should be considered one of daily routine. But eventhough it sounds obvious, many are unacquainted with the importance of it. There are many reasons why personal hygiene is prominent to us.
II. Body
A. The main reason to care for our personal hygiene is in term of personal aspect

1. Good personal hygiene is essential to promoting our good health
(Beth W. Orenstein,2009)
a) Essentially keeping a good standard of hygiene helps to prevent the development and spread of infections , illnesses and bad odours.
(Hygiene Expert, Jo Johnson, 2013 )
b) Personal aspect such as body odour, hand washing , breath are examples of things we shouldn’t take for granted .
c) Skipping any hygiene practice for a day or more can lead to a greater risk of being a victim to different ailments .
2. Our ability to care for ourselves and keep good hygiene practices reflect the self-esteem, confidence and motivation that can be altered by our body image(Anonymous,2007)
a) Cleaning oneself produces pride, comfort and dignity at home and in public places .
b) Good mental health is the difference between living and living well.
c) Neglecting these important aspects can affect our lifestyle as a whole.

B. Other importance is in term of social or public relationship

1. Imperative for social acceptance
a) Proper personal hygiene reflect our own images.
b) Without good personal hygiene, people around us will hardly socialise or accept us.
c) Thus, feeling to social is reduced (Switzer,2001,p.2)

2. Increase our own personality
a) Through nice body scent, wonderful smile with clean teeth and etc
