My mother would always weep to hear the voice of a young man ,who has taken care of himself and his little sister. My father was more than proud of the person who I was becoming, and in that moment I realized these certain changes that were occurring through my life. Numerous of flashbacks of when I had to walk from school holding my young sister's tiny hand, or when I had to bring errands such as vegetables or tortillas for dinner, all the responsibilities I was given everyday to complete, it was to help me become the person I am today. I have seen young people nowadays, and it’s hard to watch them mistreat their parents and not give them the proper love and respect they really…

One of many important roles that my mom plays in my life is that of a teacher and counselor. She has taught, and still teaches, about life and anything right and wrong in the world. An example would be that no matter how complicated something can get, never give up and walk away after the first try. Dale Carnegie, a famous writer and lecturer, once said; “Most of the things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” (Walter 1) Another would be just because you see someone do something that seems bad, but does not get in trouble, do not…

Crucial decisions are inevitable and will affect life’s journey forever. Choosing to be a stay-at-home mother rather than to pursue a successful career was the decision that brought my mother the most troublesome. During my high school experience, I have noticed myself adopting my mother’s morals of a hard working ethic and a sympathetic perspective of individuals. These particular principles have not only assisted me for the duration of high school, but also in becoming a better person overall.…

I agree with your last sentences. Our parents want the best for us, but when we are young, we just do what we want to. My mother always wanted the best for me, but like the narrator, I ignored her. Being a adult now, I understand where my mother was coming from. Like the narrator's mother, my mother came from a deprived background and wanted me to be successful so I wouldn't suffer like her.…

It wasn’t just one event that changed my life but a variety of small happenings that influenced and moulded me into the person I am today. I owe a lot to my mother; she has given me a strong intellect and a keen sense of humour, traits which I consider to be important to my personality. Perhaps a less positive aspect of her character which I also find within myself is stubbornness.…

There are a couple of people in my life today I could relate as having an influence on my life. My Grandparents, my mother and certain friends I have known a while and only seen now that some attributes I have, are because of them. Most times we as people try to think we have built ourselves up in a certain way without realizing that we are a certain way or choose not to do certain things because the people in our lives have had an influence on us. It has taken me twenty years to appreciate what an amazing influence my mother has been on my life. I didn’t know my mother well until I was 15 years old. She left when I was five to pursue her bachelor’s degree and masters in pharmacy in Bulgaria. She would come eventually for holidays when she could but all her visits seem very vague to me. Her being away for such a long time had in some way caused the divorce to happen between her and my father. I could tell it was a very hard time for her but gradually she began to support herself and got back on her feet. My mother has had an incredible influence on making me the person that I am today. Because of her, I am very hard working, I stay motivated and determined and I am a go getter.…

The person that inspires me most is my mom. The reason I say this is because she’s a strong black woman and she stands independently facing all odds. She inspires me to be the best I can be and to always give my all in whatever I’m doing. Whenever I need something, all I have to do is ask and I know if it’s possible, she’ll provide it. It’s always been like that with her and not with just me, but all of my brothers. I think the reason we may act uncivilized when dealing with authority is because we know we have a mother who’ll bail us out 9 times out of 10. If I didn’t have her, I would probably be a drop out because I wouldn’t have anyone in my ear telling me to get my grades up. My mom tells me what to do and she means just that. She has her flaws like every human does but they aren’t easy to spot in her. We’re not rich or close to it but from everything I have you wouldn’t be able to tell. I never go without anything I need or in a lot of cases, anything I want. I know she would give me her last dollar. For example…if my mom and I both wanted a candy bar and she only had two dollars on her, without a doubt she would buy it for me. She thinks of others before herself a lot and that could cause people to try to run over you but not with my mom. My mom is very smart and she pushes education to the max in my household. When I bring home bad grades I know it hurts her just as much as it hurts me, maybe a lot more actually. I always use manners and that’s because she tells me that education and respect will take me far in life. And that it would make people respect me. I want to be an R&B singer when I grow up and my mom tells me I can be anything I want to be. I don’t know if she really believes that or if she’s just saying it because it sounds good, but I know that that’s the kind of motivation I need. If I don’t have any support from anyone else, I know I’ll have some from her. I can count on my mom for anything. If…

One of the greatest figures I looked up to as a kid and still do is my father. He was a hardworking and a courageous guy, which never back down from anything. Growing up as a kid my father was very tuff and harsh on me. He greatly influenced me on everything I did, such as school work, sport teams and also daily house chores. His actions made me feel he had something against me, which maintained me to be more focused and determined. This also prepared me as I matured as a young adult. I started to understand why he was so hard on me. As time went on everything I did I put my all into.…

My mother had been my support since birth up to the present. She had been my role model through academics and socializing. Moreover, we can say that she had influence from who I am today. But, why? First, she is a single parent. She courageously took the responsibility of caring a child without any life partner. In addition, she had proven that it doesn't need always to be a work of 2 in raising a well-groomed kid. Second, I've never felt the lack of love, care, and guidance. Growing up, I faced problems and mishaps that throughout the years I solved or I still keep on facing. On the contrary, and perhaps more importantly, I've never felt on giving up. I've always received wisdom and supervision from my mother that helped in surviving and facing…

“All I am I owe to my mother.” George Washington. My mother is the most loving person I’ve ever met. When thinking about a father figure most people think of a leader, or a role model to show their children and others how to be a good person. In my case I didn't have the greatest father figure that I wanted to look up to or be like. I always had either my mom or myself to ask what the right choices in life I should make and have made. While my dad would be out with his friends at the bar and leave my mom at home to take care of three growing young men. Yet to this day I can't tell anyone a five minute conversation I've had with my father. All that makes me want to make every effort in my life to be a leader, to be different, someone to look up to and most importantly a good parent. I demonstrate all those qualities to this day. I have reached a major accomplishment by being our classes president of national honors society, I teach fifth grade CCD at my church, and every Sunday read in from of the entire church community. People always ask me, "How do you speak in front of so many people, when neither of your parents could ever do that?'" The answer is simple, people are who they are, and they control their lives no matter what type of influences are or aren't around them.…
