Siltbuster Hb300r Case Study
• Incensement of total capacity of treatment plant and improvement to water quality can be achieved vary easily. It’s possible due to lamella settlers, which provide high treatment in smaller footprint and high degree of settling capacity also process is more efficient and faster than conventional treatment with sedimentation tank. That because of one of most important feature of lamella settlers, are series of inclined plate which the suspended particles goes down with water flow, where solid particles start to settle on the plates and begin to accumulate in collection part of the bottom of the unit. Sludge is drawn off at the bottom and clarified water exists from top of the unit.
• Then water enters the UF chamber which is one simple step

According to design calculation water requirement for 2035 population prediction is around 9000 m3/day. Therefore this Siltbuster HB300R lamella treatment unit is sufficient to meet the demand.
Installing Siltbuster HB300R save up to 90% required area compared to conventional horizontal settler and also it can achieve high degree of purification limited space.
First objective is to increase the capacity of plant by 50%, as current capacity of plant is around 4500 m3/day. So 50% increment is about 9000 m3/day, which is same as 2035 demand as calculated earlier. Demand of 9000 m3/day can be fulfill buy one Siltbuster HB300R lamella clarifier, which save the significant area of land when compared to conventional horizontal tanks. Volume occupied by the conventional sedimentation would be 10*40*5 = 2000 m3. (Existing) which provide 4500 m3/day. But two such tanks required to cater future demand of 9000 m3/day. But Siltbuster HB300R takes only 6*7.1*3.5 = 150 m3. It’s about 1/10 of area

Water treatment consists of removing very small particles by flocculation. The water is sand filtered to remove bigger particles. A 2m deep bed of sand is used. Finally, it is treated with chlorine to kill microorganisms as disinfection is needed to ensure concentrations are acceptably low. Water testing is carried out for ions, colour, pH, hardness, turbidity, conductivity, micro-organisms. Alternative methods of filtration such as membrane filtration may be both more efficient in removing particles including microorganisms such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. However, these techniques are expensive to execute.…

The secondary treatment consists of putting in microorganisms to consume the dissolved waste. The advanced treatment consists of filtrating and disinfecting the water. In between each of these three steps, we conducted several tests to test for key factors that determined whether or not the water is clean. We tested for pH, ammonia concentration, turbidity, and COD. Turbidity measured suspended particles in the water and the clarity of the water. COD stands for chemical oxygen demand and measures the amount of dissolved oxygen that would be removed from the water to react with pollution. In our end results, the water passed all four-test regulations and was indeed clean water. The pH of clean water should be between 6.0 and 9.0 and ours was 6.17. The ammonia concentration was no limit, but our concentration was very low at .18 mg/L. The turbidity levels in clean water should be less than 4 FAU and ours was 0.39 FAU. The COD levels…

One of our main resources on earth is water and everything on this earth needs water to survive. Water is found below the surface which means that the water can be easily contaminated. Many items such as laundry detergent, soap, fertilizers and pesticides are poured on the ground daily that are absorbed into the soil which contaminates our fresh clean water. As these contaminants reach the underground there solubility and degradation can vary. “Research efforts are needed dealing with the remediation of leaching waters polluted to prevent further damage of surface and ground water reserves are needed”(Muñoz-Olivas, R., Bouaid, A., Liva, M., Fernández-Hernando, P., Tadeo, J., & Cámara, C. 2007).…
