The themes are alike for both stories because the dog in “A Life Fable ” and the student in “A Boy’s Life’’ are both trying to escape a specific thing. The dog is escaping the cage. Surprisingly, the cage was left open and the dog left. The quest for the dog now is to find food and find an owner so it can survive. In A Boy’s Life the character is a student that does to school and the setting is at school and summer. In A Fable’s Life the character is a dog maybe and the setting is in a cage.Something different is also that the conflict is good for one story and bad for the other.
