Certain codes that they abide by are similar. An example would be in the Bible it says to treat people like you would want to be treated, and in the Tripitaka, which is kind of like the Buddhists version of the Bible, it states that we must
treat others as if it was yourself. Both took elements from different religions, or started from those elements. Buddhism retained elements from Hinduism however they rejected the other aspects of the religion. Christianity retained elements from Judaism. But just like Buddhism did, it rejected other parts of the religion. Both are based on the basis of other elements of other religions, and both have similar life codes to follow.
Many differences exist between Buddhism and Christianity. Differences include what teachings they study. In Christianity, you study the teachings of Jesus Christ, who is the son of God, which is who we believe to be the creator of the world. In Buddhism, they study the teachings of Buddha. In Buddhism, they not believe in one prime creator, whereas in Christianity, we see God as our prime creator. Buddhism is a Dharma religion where Christianity is an Abraham religion. Buddhism and Christianity are fundamentally different in their beliefs about creation and deity.
In Japan, the presence of both the Buddhism and Christianity religion take place. However more people take place in one religion more than the other. Although the Buddhism used in Japan is slightly different, it still has the same main ideas. Japanese Buddhism is more based on the culture of Japan. About 30% if Japan take part in Buddhism. And about 2% take part in Christianity. Christianity however is the same that it is all over the world. Although the religions are not used evenly throughout Japan, both are still used.
Although they both have similar codes to live by, they don’t have the same prime beliefs such as having one prime creator. Both religions are a big part of the everyday life of people in the world such as Japan. And both are as important as one another.
