David and Casey have many similarities in their stories. One example of them having similarities is both characters both had people depending on them. They both had people depending on them because in the story ¨ David and Goliath¨ it said that “a huge giant was invading their town and the giant wanted the israelites ( David's people ) to send their best soldier and if Goliath wins then the israelites will be their slave but if the challenger won then the pharisees ( Goliaths people ) would be their slaves and David was the volunteer that had to face Goliath.” Casey had people depending on him because in the poem it said “they were at a baseball game and Casey was up to bat and if they got one more run they would win the game but, if he got out they …show more content…
One way Casey and David are different is Casey toward the end of the story was greedy and over confident but, David throughout the story was humble and trusted God. Casey was greedy and over confident because he was getting too confident and was not giving all his effort and watched the first two go bye. He was being selfish and not thinking about his actions. But on the other hand, David was humble and trusting because once he slayed the giant he did not brag and he did not boast he gave all the glory to God. This is because in the text it said” once he killed the giant he told his people to worship God and that he did not slay the giant God did. “
