Before I elaborate further, I can just break this down and use this essay as an example and an analogy to initially compare these two leadership styles. Combat leadership as I said before is a point A to point B. There is more to it, but the point that I’m trying to make is that combat is now more reaction and how to properly take action that you learned in garrison. Like garrison leadership, combat has its own separate list of stresses, shortfalls and different angles of approach to success. Also, like the garrison environment. Combat has its own set of difficulties such as resources, maintaining full 24 hour combat readiness at high alerts, complacency that kills, PTSD, death, injuries and living environments.
