Similarities Between Hamlet And The Lion King

Through both texts, many minor characters have a big impact in both plots. Guildenstern and Rosencrantz from ‘Hamlet’ and Timon and Pumbaa from ‘The Lion King’ all have big influences on both texts. They develop a healthy relationship to the main character which proves to be vital to the stories. Timon and Pumbaa both look after Simba while he is upset after the death of his father. They give him advice, “Hakuna Matata” and not to dwell on the past and to focus on being happy. Simba listens to them and returns to being his happy self, and ends up saving Pride Rock from being taken over by Scar and his evil plans, all thanks to the minor characters, Timon and Pumbaa. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern also prove to have a positive presence to Hamlet.
