Similarities Between Hamlet And The Lion King
The theme of family supporting each other is commonly explored through stories of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ and Disney’s ‘The Lion King’. Both texts show audiences that family is always there through the tough times and the compelling times. Each text shows us protagonists that are targeted by their families and are forced to seek revenge. In the lion king Simba’s father is killed by Scar, the antagonist in The Lion King and Simba is exiled, as he believes it was his own fault. As the years go by, Simba has gained enough confidence and courage to return to pride rock and take his rightful place as king and take the kingdom from Scar, as he was the one who killed Mufasa.
