In conclusion, the poem “I, Too” by Langston Hughes and the poem “I Hear America Singing” by Walt Whitman can be analyzed with intertextuality and identity theories. In order, to employ a new perspective to different audiences about today's society ideologies on discrimination, and the progress for equal opportunities for all. In addition, the poem “I, Too” also brings awareness of the negative effects of social stereotyping.
