Setting in the movie the introductions starts off with the girl running and whining just because she thought she was being harassed by lennie. Anyways they were in the town of weed but had to leave quickly from the town so they went to a new ranch. It was a town called soledad in California. Now that's where all the good stuff happened. As well in the novel it also started in weed explaining how they left because of the girl. There wasn't much differences in the settings. However i liked where they had done the movie, making it how the book had described it. I also enjoyed that they did a colored movie instead of a black and white, those aren't really my favorites.
Now the characters they were some good actors! They did their part very well especially lennie because that sometimes could be a challenge. This is off topic but goodness george was a hottie! Although I imagined them way different in my head. One of my least favorites one was curley's wife she was very inappropriate. To be honest I am kinda glad she died.Oh and the only one i had sympathy for …show more content…
was candy even though i thought it was a girl because of its name, but yeah i have sympathy for him because his dog died!! Dogs can die in movies i will break down into tears man. The poor man was crying but i'm there for him! However i kinda wish they had shown aunt clara whenever she was suppose to be seen. Like whenever lennie was imagining her and the rabbit there could've been a way for that to be seen.
The theme was loneliness.
It was pretty obvious after the book was read because no one in the novel had a friend only george, that's only because he had to put up with linnie. Then in the end george shot lennie. Curley's wife was roaming around the ranch because she was lonely and had no one to talk to.Curley was lonely because he was just a freakin jerk thinking he all big and bad. Crooks was lonely because he thought people didn't like him because of his skin color. Slim was like an independent guy i guess. My point is everyone was lonely somehow. I think the part that really showed the theme was when lennie went into crooks room and crook told him to get
out.
Well that's my essay about this movie/novel. It was a good one and I think I probably learned something from it. Not everyone can get along with others and we should appreciate who we have by our sides. It was really a great book!
