Similarities Between Othello And The Great Gatsby

Two characters from Othello and the Great Gatsby that share similar traits are Othello and Gatsby.
As a matter of fact, both characters, Othello and Gatsby based their actions upon their feelings towards their loved one. Othello decides to give up on his royalty in order to find the truth about whether his wife was cheating on him or not, while Gatsby decided to work on the underworld business to have as much money as possible in order to attract Daisy.
Furthermore, both characters obtain a high social status starting from the bottom. Othello is an immigrant who is able to scale up to the top of the Italian society and become a noble soldier, while Gatsby goes from being a simple soldier to becoming a very rich person who people respect.
