Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet And Modern Pop Songs
Despite having been written hundreds of years apart, Romeo and Juliet and modern pop songs have much in common. Romeo and Juliet is a story about love, and many of the pop songs today revolve around that same concept. Both are different types of poetry. The lyrics of songs can be just poetic as those of Shakespeare’s plays. Additionally, both use many different types of literary devices; imagery, metaphors, etc. Of course, there are some differences between the two. For instance, Troye Sivan’s song “Youth” is about a lover who suggests that he and his partner run away to be together.
