The Hero Shrek In Beowulf and Shrek, both heroes share and don’t share many common characteristics and themes that they encounter. Both Beowulf and Shrek set out on a quest to help others. Both of the heroes overcome a specific enemy or monster. Shrek and Beowulf have different goals that they wanted to achieve in their quest. Beowulf and Shrek are both heroes but they both have different goals as they go on their quest. To begin, Both Beowulf and Shrek set out on a quest to help others. Beowulf sets out to help the Danes end the terror of Grendel. He gathers his own soldiers and leaves his home of Geateland to help those who were terrorized.
