Similarities Between The Chinese Cinderella And The Bite Of The Mango
Chinese Cinderella and The Bite of the Mango are very similar and many ways because they both have the same meaning and purpose of life. In The Chinese Cinderella was about a young girl that was seen as a “Bad Luck” child but really wasn’t. Nobody in her family didn’t care about her just because they blamed her for her mother’s death. And in The Bite of the Mango it was as about a young girl but she was affected by the war that was going on in Magborou where the Rebels destroy everything to obtain power. In these two books they both try to accomplish something to succeed in life but different accomplishments.

    The Grimm version and the Disney version of Cinderella both include punishment to the stepsisters for how they treated Cinderella and they both exemplify the theme. For example, in both versions, the stepsisters do not get to what they want,which is to marry the prince and for Cinderella not to be happy. The Disney version kept it this way because that is basically the story. If the stepsisters got what they wanted, then they would not have gotten what they deserved and that was the whole lesson of the story. Another example is that in the end, Cinderella does get to marry the prince and she gets what she deserves for how the stepsisters and stepmother treated her. The Disney version also kept this the same because it is the happy ending that everybody is expecting and is, once again, the basic story line.     Most Americans could say that they have at least heard of Cinderella and her fairy godmother. In the German Version of Cinderella, “Aschenputtel,” there is no Fairy godmother. In “Aschenputtel,” Cinderella’s mother tells her “Dear child, remain pious and good, and then our dear God will always protect you, and I will look down on you from heaven and be near you." Later in the story Cinderella asks her father to bring home the first twig that brushes his hat. When given the twig Cinderella takes it to her mother’s grave and it grows into a magnificent tree. Cinderella then prays under the tree and pigeons and turtledoves bring Cinderella anything she wishes. These birds represent Cinderella’s mother’s spirit watching over her poor daughter. Animals, such as birds and mice, also appear in the Disney classic, but are more aides then guardians to Cinderella. These animals are introduced as humorous instead of saviors in the Disney version. The animals help her clean the house and do chores. Later on they also are transformed into steeds and drivers to take Cinderella to the ball.
