The ideals of the Puritans are reflected in the Crucible through their strictness and commitment to their religion. There rigidness is shown throughout the novel in their daily lives. It is especially exhibited through the fear of the children because they do not want to get in trouble so they end up lying a lot. Their commitment was shown through the government which was ran by people who were considered saved or the elect. Anything that did not honor God was punished with death which demonstrates their sternness and engagement to their religion which is very similar to Puritanism.
