Similarities Between The Jocks, Geeks, And Loners
In our school we have the popular girls, jocks, geeks, and loners. The popular girls are either rich or spoiled, they're mean, and probably couldn't live without their phone or makeup. The girls would probably die in the woods or at least have a hard time. Jocks tend to be the ones who think they run the school or think they can be mean and rude and usually get away with it. It's actually kinda funny, everyone ends up hating them or unfriend them because of how mean they are. I guess you really do get what you pay for. You also have the geeks and they sweet and really smart, but always bullied because of how smart the are and then used for homework answers or text answers. Geeks are most likely one of the good kids but we don't really have many of those, I mean we have people who have good grades but not many who are nice or sweet. …show more content…
My whole school has talked bad about someone, we are all mean maybe more than some. My favorites are the loners. If you have to put me in a group then put me in that one. Loners aren't really loners, they just have a small group of friends. Loners are called druggies, stoners, or mean people because we don't like big groups so people think we do weed and stuff but we really don't. Loners just want to be alone because out in the world with people we get called names or aren't rich enough or cool enough so why try if they're not going to accept you for

There are many different ways to classify a person, some good and some bad. In Rosiland Wiseman’s essay “The Queen Bee and Her Court” she says, “We need to give girls credit for the sophistication of their social structures”. She’s right, the way girls separate each other into different cliques is very complex and multilayered, but sometimes it can be very harmful to some of the girls. If you classify someone has a “Queen Bee”, or “The IT girl”, they are going to feel empowered and special. But what about the girls you call “Losers”, or “Wannabe’s”. They are going to feel depressed, like they don’t fit in, or that they’re weird or not as good as those other girls.…

In the movie American teen, theres a geek named Jake which the reason he is a geek is because he is a gamer and he is in the marching band. Jake says a couple times in the movie that he wishes that he lived in a video game, so he could save a damsel in distress. I think I am more like Jake because we both love video games and we are both kind of nerds. In the movie he dates a girl which she likes everything he likes, but it turns out that she cheats on him and lies. He later graduated with his class and went to Lawrence University.…

Many studies of young people show that if a person's friends engage in a behavior - everything from cigarette smoking to drinking alcohol to shoplifting to sexual activity - an adolescent is highly likely to conform to his or her friends' behaviors and try these activities. The alternative is for the youngperson to seek different friends with values more in line with his own. Often, however, the desire to be part of a group and the fear of social isolationmakes it more appealing to change behaviors than to seek other friends.…

Economic status is often a big factor in cliques. Realistically, rich and the poor do not go hand in hand. The children of wealthy people look down on people that are poor. Cliques divide people through "class." It seems like if your family's bank account isn't off the charts you cant be friends with other people whose families are. Money isn't everything. Therefore these kids are missing out on opportunities to get to know other kids that might be just as fun to hang out with but just not blow all their money.…

I always hated everyone in school. Especially since freshman year, where I told everyone in LA1 Honors some very mean, incredibly fantastically, mean things. I know I had hurt people that day, but I didn’t care. I realized before I entered and started my junior year, that I absolutely positively had to focus because it could quite possibly be my hardest year in all of my high school years. And…

The world is filled with many different stereotypes, but there is one in particular that truly sticks out like a sore thumb, the nerds. Nerds have their own way of doing things and the majority of them are very intelligent. They can also be seen as the dweebs in society because they never want to have fun, or they are socially awkward towards other crowds. Nerds can be classified into many different types: smart and innovative, stuck up, as well as quiet and…

Regular schools in the real world seem to breed particular behaviors and feelings. I know many adults who still have the immature behavior that is learned all throughout highschool. Success in life has nothing to do with success in highschool. The type of competition taught in most highschools is detrimental to the cooperative teamwork that is needed for real success in life beyond highschool. It breeds "followers" who cannot take a step out on their own.…

    My Poem

It was a normal ordeal at school. Everyone laughing, smiling, just being happy. They don't see how well they have it while the outsiders are sitting around, waiting for someone to understand them. I was sitting there, but I wasn't there. I was in my own land of creativity where I can be anyone and be anywhere. Today, I chose the life of a star athlete, popular, loved. But all of a sudden, I snapped out of my dreamlike state. Why does everything have to revolve around popularity? Why can't it be simpler? Why can't we all just be happy and ourselves around everybody? Because I doubt that any guy really picks on little guys all of the time, and teenage girls trash talking other girls out of pure boredom. I believe that people at high school or any type of school really just believes that they have to play a role to society. The cheerleaders think they have to act the part, the jocks believe that they can only hang out with the cheerleaders and themselves, to avoid band members or unsocial people. Unsocial people believe that the cheerleaders and jocks have the superior authority.…

Too many kids think that they have to wear the latest fashions or listen to the newest music to fit in. If someone does not meet the “social norm” many people feel isolated from the rest of their peers. Although many people like to think that people will like others for who they are, teens usually believe they need to be up to speed on the latest trends and be a part of the popular cliques. When they realize they are not a part of the “popular” group is when they feel as if they do not fit in and begin to feel lonely. According to an online source, “When a child doesn’t have the confidence of who they are or where they belong, it can lead to the place that is easiest to fit in – usually not the best crowd” (HelpYourTeeens.com). This kind of situation can most likely lead to a path of isolation or possibly depression, making kids believe they are not important. More attentive staff in schools could greatly reduce the number of kids who feel as if they are not important or do not fit in…
