Simon Lord Of The Flies Character Analysis
Simon is a very small boy with an abnormal physical appearance. He is convinced that God has a special plan for him, and that everything that is unusual about him is actually a part of God’s plan to use him in a special way. Simon believes that God created him for a reason. That God wouldn't put him in this world and not have a plan for him.
Simon surviving with an abnormally small heart is a miracle when medically there was no hope for his survival within the first 24 hours of his life. He knows that he is a miracle baby. This is a testimony that God is a living God and he has a purpose and a great plan for creating Simon with abnormality.
• God’s purpose of creating Simon was to spread faith in God. Simon glorifies God through his faith

Simon tries to help Joe find his father. Joe Wenteworth lost his mother and felt like he needed to know his father. But soon found out that he didn't. Every day Joe would repeat a prayer that Simon said to Ms. Wenteworth when she passed away. Simon was really a miracle child.

• The little kids listen to Simon because of how he looks, and because they listen to him he was able to save all of the children on the bus at the end of the movie
Simon: “Did you see how the children listened to me because of the way I looked?”
So God made him the way he was so that he could eventually save the children on the bus, whereas, if he had looked normal, they would have ignored him like Joe
Gods Plan for Simon was to help Joe find his father, save the children on the bus, and to show the town that there is more to people than appearances and that God has made everyone for a reason.
We can also see the beatitude “blessed are they who mourn, for theirs is the kingdom of God - Simon mourns when he kills Joe’s mother by hitting the baseball
God has a plan for everyone because he is our creator; God has created every human being unique and with a special purpose. That is why we need to live our life on earth to fulfill Gods purpose and plan for us as opposed to living to satisfy our selfish

As Ralph is sitting on the beach telling Simon about his desire to leave the island, Simon reassures Ralph that he will leave the island and be fine. Simon offers his wisdom to Ralph because he fully grasps onto the longing Ralph is feeling. Wanting to lift Ralph from that pain, he shows how gentle his heart is and how he cares for the rest of the group. Jesus also gave others his wisdom and advice, often to those seeking some direction in life. Although Simon does not attain supernatural powers, Jesus can for example, cure the blind. This allows Jesus to attend to the less fortunate and supply individuals with a sense of protection. Simon shows his powers in different ways, supplying fruit for the littluns when they cannot reach it. This gives the littluns someone to look to, as the other biguns seem to have forgotten about them. Tending to the common people, both Jesus and Simon are naturally compassionate and can sense the emotions of others well. Out of the goodness of their hearts both express their innocence in way in which they realize to do things not in spite of their guilt, but because naturally they are not morally…

In Lord of the Flies, Simon has been characterized in a sort of all seeing, knowledgeable creature. Having epilepsy, or a similar condition, was considered a holy disease, that he was connected with god because of it, he was purer than the other boys in a sense. The scene after his death really shows that. The passage describes the “clear water [that] mirrored the clear sky” and the flowing of nature around Simon. Had it been one of the other, the corrupted and savage boys, the flowing of the water, the moving of the waves, and the creatures around them would have been disturbed by the body floating there. However, Simon is simply welcomed into the water, “The water rose farther and dressed Simon’s coarse hair with brightness. The line of his cheek silvered and the turn of his shoulder became sculptured marble.” Even in death…
