The majority of humans think from the outside to the inside. In his concept great leaders and organizations think from the inside to the outside, making the “why” the most important question that has to be asked. Marines make a living asking the “why” question daily. Simon Sinek also articulated that in order to be successful, the organization needs to know why it does what it does. In addition, the organization also needs to have a purpose, a cause, a belief and a reason for existing. For over 200 years the Marines never encountered difficulties having a purpose, a cause, a belief and a reason for existing. The Marines purpose is having a vital role in national security as an amphibious, expeditionary force ready when the nation calls upon them. Their cause is reflected in their actions on the battlefield, actions that can change the outcome of a war. A strong belief of invincibility and that they are the best military force in the world. This belief is the outcome of countless hours of training to achieve perfection before entering the battlefield.
