What not to say
First I did this,
Then I did this,
But that didn’t work.
So I tried this,
And that didn’t work either,
So in desperation I tried this last week,
And it worked!
But now I’ve run out of time.
The Joys of Powerpoint
•Some people put everything they say on the screen
•The trouble is that it can get rather boring if all the presenter does is to read it out
•I mean, it’s a bit insulting, isn’t it?
•Does he think we can’t read or something?
The Joys of Powerpoint
•Animation can be effective
•But it can be over-done
•Also, it can be rather irritating (moderation !)
Clarity
Make sure text is legible, especially on graphs
(check out text size, symbol size and colours)
