Overarching Question: What are real life applications of Sinusoidal Waves? First and Foremost, Sinusoidal Waves are waves that can be described to have a sine curve, usually repetitive. Sine waves are a part of the mathematic topic, Trigonometry. However, these types of waves may be found in various other scenarios. For instance, many are found in nature, you just have to observe with care. This means to say that they aren’t just a math topic without a background. An example of a sinusoidal wave would this highway. The way it slopes and then comes back up is a sine. However, this is a man made structure that was purposefully designed to look like this. It is visually appealing as well as interesting but more examples are available. There are ample examples of sine waves in nature. Nature is a place where sinusoidal waves can very often be found. A very common example are ocean waves. When these waves hit the shore they curve in the form of the graph. They are not alone, seeing as how pine trees make the same shape when seen from a distance. Lastly, seismic waves make a very obvious sine that scientists themselves graph. Therefore, while sinusoid graphs are visually appealing they serve other uses. Mathematics is the native home of these graphs and they are widely known as Trigonometric. They are appealing to look at as seen above as well. However they are useful to scientists as they try and locate earthquakes. This evidence shows that sinusoid graphs have multiple purposes. Evidently they are essential to our lives, as they have many uses.
