LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL

I enjoyed doing this project as it gave me a great experience and more exposure to the MARKETING WORLD. I came across different people having different kinds of experiences and enjoyed listening to them and getting the questionnaires filled by them. At the same time there were some constraints too, that I had to face. This mainly included the time constraint and the non- cooperation of people. Still I found it very interesting and am thankful to my respected College Mentor Sir Kshtragna and my office Mentor Ms Smita Nivedita Das who gave me the opportunity and moral support to conduct this research.

In this assignment I will be discussing the consideration of Domino’s Pizza entering the market place in the Washington DC’s Georgetown community. I selected this area because it is highly populated with tourists that may want to grab a quick bite to eat while shopping and touring the area and the local upper class working singles that often don’t have time to cook after a long day at work. I have conducted research and gathered information forecasting the demand for this business based on population, household income and other pizza establishments in this area along with the average cost for pizza. Based on the research and demand analysis we should be able to determine if it would be in the best interest of the Domino’s Pizza Company to establish an operation in this community.…

There are a number of bases on which Papa John’s differentiates itself, many of which are interrelated. First and foremost is Papa John’s offering of a higher-quality pizza, which not only allows them to differentiate on the basis of a product feature (i.e. the high quality ingredients used in the pizza), but, even more importantly, on the basis of reputation. While most other pizza chains have their sights set on more of a cost-leader/low-price strategy, and make an less genuine statement of quality, Papa John’s entire organizational culture is focused squarely upon the pursuit of “better ingredients, better pizza”. This commitment has in turn endeared it to customer base, and has resulted in a long string of high customer satisfaction ratings.…

Papa Johns is implementing a stability strategy in a market where some of its crucial competitors are growing quickly. The primary reason is that the Papa Johns would like to keep outlets that are profitable. Next, Papa Johns wants to develop globally (Papa John's International, 2015). Both these facts have proved important in real time. The net income of Papa Johns declined from $53.7 million in 2009 to $52.6 million in 2010. However, in 2011 the income has recovered to $54.7 million (Microsoft Service Network, 2015). The second reason is that Papa Johns has pursued the strategy of opening outlets abroad. Currently, there are over 4,500 outlets of Papa Johns and there are outlets in over 33 countries (Papa John's International, 2015).…
