CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Schools are considered as building blocks for students in learning and acquiring greater knowledge. It is where the formation and molding of students’ character and future starts. As years pass, changes, difficulties and problems came along that schools are facing today. One of this is the managing, tracking and keeping of students’ and school’s information and documents and teaching materials. The rising number of students’ population, school library’s increasing number of books and reading materials, school registrar’s bulk of admission and enrollment forms, important papers and student’s compilation of information are just some of the factors that need a lot of management and keep-tracking. Accessing and retrieving that information is also a burden considering that you need to look for one file over a thousand of it for quite awhile. If not treated immediately, this could lead to faulty distribution of information and inefficient learning environment.
Rationale Of The Study As technology emerges, optimization and automation is greatly possible. Schools are now technology-oriented adapting to new changes brought by technology and enjoy the benefit that technology offers. This is now globally introduced to schools and institutions. Schools all over the world have their own unique way of using modern privileges to fit the need of their respective institutions. In the Philippines, most universities and colleges already have school websites, automated library processes and enrollment and even a systematic way for admission and grade computation. There are still schools that are not into this practice like San Isidro Parish School (SIPS). SIPS is having a hard time managing huge amount of information related to students including their admission and enrollment papers, teaching materials down to students grades and progress. The said institution is aiming to have something that can ease their difficulties and problems regarding school matters. In addition, they had a hard time handling and checking for documents and information that a student or school staff need. It may take awhile going to the different school offices to ask for something and wait for another set of time while their looking and checking it manually. The easier and faster the way to access, retrieve and look for documents and information; there will be more efficient and productive learning process and environment.
