The mood of the building is dark and very little lighting. When you walk through you can hear the floors as you walk and just shows how old the building is. Inside you do not know when you enter that you're in the current century. The sculpture of Moses by Michelangelo is one of the bigger sculptures in the museum and is very prominent because it is surrounded by unknown sculpture and is placed in fronts of beautiful stained glass. Slater museum is divided into many sections and it easy to determine the different eras from where the art is from. The bottom floor is the Greek and Roman sculptures. It's a good entrance because most people are familiar with sculptures from that region. The second floor begins with sculptures from the Renaissance. The left side is a room with artwork like oil canvases mostly from a Norwich portraitist, Alexander Hamilton Edmond. The museum has many artifacts from 18th century Norwich. Slater museum is a great resource for students and the community. Most of the art and sculptures that are found in European museums can be seen at the Slater Museum. It is nice that it is accessible by students and the community at a very low, affordable price. Its is nice to look at the detail and even as casts the sculpture are well detailed.
