Dear diary I can’t believe my luck today I just brought some melon seeds from the markets I just hopefully that boost how much my crops are worth. When I get home I reach my new house that I got last month when dad gave me the farm I’m just so lucky that my dad didn’t end up giving the farm to stern (my younger brother) because if he had that would have meant that I would have had to ether join the army or become a peasant and I didn’t want any of those things to happen to me. When I got back to the house I stored the seeds in the shed then went outside to check on the two slaves. Dad had decided six years ago that we needed a couple slaves and that we had some room in the house for them. The slave’s names were Abayomi and Abasi they were nice people and we treated them like family and tried to make them feel welcome. Once I had checked on the slaves I started to fix the canals that lead from the Nile river into the field I had been working on it for a while now and then I found out that I needed some repairing materials so I checked the shed but I couldn’t find anything to fix it with and I knew it would just waste time to head back into town to buy the materials. I then decided that I didn’t want to waste so I went out and told Abasi to start collecting the feed the animals as I helped Abayomi harvest the field by taking the harvested crops to the storage shed. I needed to get as much done today as without the fields harvested I won’t be able to start planting the crops tomorrow and if that happens I will be behind and that means that I could end up not harvesting this year and I will end up having to sell the all of the animals and slaves to pay off the of the tax.
