The idea that humanity was divided into groups associated based of the skin color was a modern concept that had not fully developed in the 17th century. Many slave owners ignored the despair feelings of the slaves leaving them in desperation of when freedom would ever take a stand in slave’s lives, but when it did many slaves were ignored and were rejected to be a part of Americas new sovereignty. History ignored slave’s hopelessness because slaves where no longer going to take anymore labor. Slaves were going to fight for their independence and were going to be more self-sufficient and rely on themselves because they had the skills to grow their own crops not only did slaves develop labor skills but survival skills. They were almost living and learning the European life. Slaves were not going to stand and let White men tear their families apart. No color of skin made a human less human than someone who looked notably different. By the 1770s slaves became to represent less than 3% of the region’s population meaning it was unusual for even a rich well domesticated family to own more than one slave or any. Because Africans slaves were fighting to cease slavery for good history neglected to point out the struggles that slaves had to face because of the wrongfully treatment Africans faced due to their different tone appearance. Slaves had to travel in crowds with other slaves who carried diseases, who were a part of a different cultural and were complete strangers that were wrongfully taken apart from their families. Slaves spend much more time traveling and working for owners who owned property.
