Case Study
“The Sleep Well Motel” 1. The Pros of Will Shelton owning and operating the Sleep Well Motel are he will be his own boss and there is already a night Manager employed by the current owner. The Cons of his owning and operating the Motel are it is hard to find good maid service, there was no on location restaurant and it was in need of cosmetic work.
2. I do believe Will’s marketing background will be a great assistance to him in running the motel and I believe he will market it and have it up and running in better condition in no time.
3. Marketing is Will’s strong suit and running any personal service based business would benefit with a marketing background.
4. I think if Will markets the motel to Travelers or possibly teaming up with the restaurant that is down the street to do an eat and stay special it would help build the business.
If I was Will and purchasing the Sleep Well Motel I would try to give the Motel a face lift and do the cosmetic repairs that needed to be done to make it more appealing to people passing by to stop and sleep for a night. I would also try to form a partnership with the restaurant that is a few blocks away so if someone stops to eat there they are given some special price to stop and stay at the Motel.

In the case of Ryan running the Apollo Hotel, I would offer him to increase occupancy because when he decided to offer a deal with the three nights for the price of two if guests were to make their reservations two months before arriving there and pay in advance and even though the deal was effective it attracted more people.
