Growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia has been encouraging a catalyst for economic development. This study aims to identify factors that contribute to the success and failure of a small and also the extent to which the level of business management practices among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through surveys and research that has been done. Implications and recommendations for Small and Medium Industries (SMI) will be discussed in this study. The study also found that there are two main factors, namely internal and external factors that influence success and failure of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia.

According to Ozcan (1995), the world economy today is undergoing a rapid change in industrial organization, world market and technology production and one of the reasons for this scenario is the rate of growth of Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) higher compared with large industry.
As a rapidly developing country, Malaysia is planning to raise the living standards of its people and economy. Economic Policy in the drafting stage New (NEP) in 1971, Malaysia has identified that the factor of absence funds and expertise and there is no exposure and the opportunity to manage Business causing the number of Bumiputera entrepreneurs is very low with other minority races in Malaysia (Malaysia, and Norfadzillah 2002a, 1994).

This does not reflect the critical success factors of small entrepreneurs in other states in Malaysia Data collection was done by means of questionnaires. The accuracy and validity obtained by this method depends on the answers given by respondents. Researchers also have problems in order to collect the questionnaires were distributed. The primary data collection methods is limited to the questionnaires are returned and have a complete answer. Limited time and higher transport costs borne by the researchers in this study. A short time made it difficult for researchers to gather sufficient information and appropriate research topics. In fact, it also limits the researcher to find information in a remote area of Johor Bahru to further study.
1.8 Conclusion In this chapter is an overview of the study. On the basis of this study, researchers will continue to write and study in the next chapter. Therefore, this study focuses on the factors that enable small entrepreneurs who received microcredit successful.
