Small Town Girl

living life for 19 years was great, appreciated every moment good ones and bad ones. This may be unusual to some of you sitting in this very room. But I feel this is essential for you all to know me. I come from a small town called udaipur which is originated in Rajhistan. I was restricted to many things because I am women and coming from a hindu family, it was difficult to be an extrovert in the community. Too many rules and regulations were put on my shoulders, I was fed up one day and told myself, enough is enough. I spoke with my parents about doing something different then others , they understood what i meant and what i wanted to do and moreover they appreciated my decision for joining hospitality and tourism. love and respect for people is in my culture and tradition that is my ethics. yet in my culture women were always underestimated as we were always demotivated by the opposite sex . But i disagreed with this and over came this situation and started supporting feminism .
While living in india i haven't seen india, the only place i have been is delhi for my interview for visa and jaipur because my sister used to study there .
A FOOT into the real world : i wouldn't be standing here if i wouldn't taken the big step for joining hospitality and tourism in switzerland and it would not be possible without my parents support and friends who encouraged me to do something that shows i am different from others . I am here to help my fathers business and to build his business. I want to be better in life.
DREAMS only come true if you visualise them and thats exactly what i did . I wanted to do something different and challenge myself by leaving my country and coming to switzerland to experience the world in the different prospective.

Hospitality is for the people that travel offent but that was one thing i was lacking but with positive thinking i decided to use that as a positive strategy .
THANK YOU:)

I was taught to believe that our culture was the culture of the world--that our culture was the best in the world, and all the others were corrupt. I remember how me and my sisters used to repeat after my mom and say, “ Nothing shames a man but an empty pocket”.The continuous encouragement to accept these ideas led me support the culture of man-female inequality, in spite of my own wellbeing and personal…

My story began in a third world country – Guatemala. I come from a single mother family structure, which meant economic and social struggles while growing up. My mom decided to migrate to the United States, when I was 15 years old. It was definitely a life changing experience. It was difficult at the beginning, I had to learn to communicate and adapt to this society, High School years ease up the process; by the time I graduated, I had already adapted and felt as part of this society. I started college, I was unsure of what I wanted to do, after taking all of the basic courses I decided to pursue a degree in Computer Programming, it took me years to completed it, because I was working full time and going to school part time. I began to apply to jobs related in this field, this is when I realized that most of the companies were requiring an advanced degree and up to date courses. I could not afford to stay in school then; so I decided just to keep a stable job, not related to the field.…

Why Do We Have To Die?

    • 468 Words

I realized that through assiduous toil, I can make myself special and known in this world. Life was too short and dear, and to leave this world unknown to others, just an ordinary man that lived his life was not an option that I was willing to accept. I did not want to have the same job as others, the same insipid family as others, the same dull lifestyle as others, and the same death as others. “No,” I said. I won’t die in this world without my name engraved in people’s soul, without my thoughts and ideas influencing many generations to come. I will be special through hard work and achieve glory and success. With success, I will spread my fame throughout many generations to come. I will be remembered. My ideas will be discussed and debated among others. My thoughts will be used as a tool for motivating young minds. I will be a role model and a symbol of success. Life is a onetime chance, and I intend to not lose it but use it to my full extent. It is utterly terrifying to live and die like…

Because we had come from south Africa I had only been taught one or two English lessons a week and they were very weak and my English listening and oral abilities ten not to be adequate. I will study hard along with my mum to improve our English to understand what the people say. Since we had come we had made great progress not just on the language but also adaptive capacity From what I saw and talked with my friends I realised I wanted to go back to school to improve my capabilities.
