In this new up-to-date age of technology, we as humans always have our hands full, literally. Our attention is so occupied by a hand held mobile device called the smart phone. Smart phones are advanced mobile phones that satisfy all your computing and communicating needs. The first smart phone was invented by IBM (International Business Machines) in 1992. Since then the mobile technology has been on the rise. The demand for smart phones has increased significantly. Smart phones have revolutionized different aspects of modern society in a positive way by: improving ways of communication, producing new career paths, and creating new ways to learn.
The forms of communication undergo a constant evolution from simple to more complex. Communication is a part of history; from the caveman drawings and paintings on walls to the use of transmission of signals. There has always been a need to improve communication. Transitioning from traditional types of communication to a more modern communication, smart phones have gradually taken the shape of what communication looks like. In this culture of social networking, mobile technology has become the icon for communication. Mobile technology has made communication quicker and more accessible. Ann Kaiser, a researcher at Vanderbilt Peabody College of education and human development, mentioned, “ New research indicates that children with autism who are minimally verbal can learn to speak later than previously thought, and iPads are playing an increasing role in making that happen.” iPads, tablet computers designed by Apple, have become so popular today in society. It is another form of mobile technology that enhances communication. Relating back to the research done by Kaiser, mobile technology highly improves communication by making language and thoughts more practical to the user.
While technology in smart phones keeps advancing, new careers and job opportunities will start to surface.
