Abstract

This study is an investigation of brand rivalry between two competing brands. The number of Smartphone users in Philippines is rising and is not expected to slow anytime soon. There are two major Smartphone brands have emerged as a competing brands: Samsung and Apple. When two strong companies emerged, brand rivalry can easily be recognize. As the year passes by, this two brands evolve in terms of design, specification, features and quality that can cause the rivalry between Samsung and Apple. The collusive activities of Apple and Samsung have increased the competition in the electronic industry.1 Because of their large market share, this control has led to increased difficulties for other companies to enter the market.2 Smartphone users are looking on a brand with a high value of quality and identity that would result in having a high brand preference among the buyers.
