After that, I will introduce my guest speaker from CSKT Division of Fire Management to further explain to students their job and role to the community. Also, he will discuss the elements of what makes a fire, the causes of wildfires, and how to prevent them. I think the Japanese proverb, “Fall seven times, stand up eight” explains that no matter how many times you fall, you will get up. In Touching Spirit Bear, the main character, Cole, struggles with how to live his life. He believes no one loves him, or appreciates him. Especially his parents, who could care less whether Cole was alive or dead. So, given the circumstances, Cole is a bad kid. He is 15, and has been in trouble with the law half his life. So, the proverb is saying, no matter how many tough times, relating to Cole, are in your life, push through, and stand up. Everyone gets to have a happy ending, you just have to know how to rise up to the challenge.…

What has allowed Smokey to become such a long-standing symbol, even with all this tension and hate filled history?…
