Snow White Compare And Contrast Essay
Most of us are familiar with the Disney version of Snow White, Snow White and the seven Dwarfs, a classic fairy tale movie about a kind princess and her evil stepmother. However, there is another version of this tale by Brothers Grimm, who were the first to publish it, which is similar to the Disney movie but with few variations in the story. In this essay, both contradictory and similar meanings of the two versions of the fairy tales are discussed based on the allegorical, sexism and morality content. In the Brothers Grimm version of Snow White, there are many characters in the tale. Huntsman and prince have a small part in the movie. In the movie, Snow White lives with her stepmother, who is also the queen. Stepmother being very wicked forces her to be a servant. Meanwhile, the queen asks her magic mirror “who is the fairest one of all” to which the mirror replies “Snow White”. The queen couldn’t tolerate the truth and orders her huntsman to kill Snow White and bring her back Snow White’s heart. In the woods, huntsman requests Snow White to escape and never return. After listening to queens evil intentions, Snow White ran into the woods and finds an abandoned untidy home which she assumes that it belongs to seven orphans. Later, she met the seven dwarves who let her stay in exchange of keeping their house neat and cook for them. Queen learns that Snow White is still alive and decides to kill by herself. She magically disguises into an old lady and formulates a poisonous apple that will put Snow White into a death-like sleep and will only be awakened by the kiss from prince. Snow White is tricked and poisoned. The dwarfs chase the queen to the cliff where she falls off and gets killed by the boulder. The dwarves place Snow White in a coffin and when prince arrives, he kisses Snow White and breaks the spell. Snow White is revived and goes away with
