This Chapter will provide an indepth look at the history of snowboarding and its origins and founding characters and how it has developed over the past 60 or so years. this will help provide context and a basic knowledge to the reader about the history of this sport, from the icons to the brands to the struggles and Ideology behind the sport. from its early origins from skateboard and surfing culture to the struggle for the mainstream acceptance and identity and the key values that riders hold true to the sport that differentiates snowboarding from other snowsports activities.
