This type of board is the most popular type. Free ride boards account for over half of all snowboard sales. They are good for park and half pipe it also can glide through powder with ease. These snowboards have a directional shape, meaning that the nose of the board is different than the tail. Additionally the boards are offset to make the riding stance to be closer to the back of the board. But they can also be ridden in the fakie stance which means your right foot is forward on the board instead of your left. The next most common board type is freestyle also known as a park…
Adaptive skiing has been an advancement of human civilization in the 20th century. The history of skiing began over 7000 years ago. With the recent cultural shifts in viewing people with disabilities, there are far more options for people with disabilities for recreation. Along with advancements in technologies, Injured veterans have led the way for todays mono skiing and other adaptive skiing techniques. Skiing has become available to people with many kinds of disabilities but to understand how we got to today, we have to look at understanding the beginnings of skiing.…
People who don’t skateboard have no idea what I’m about to describe, but if you have a passion for skateboarding like I you will totally understand. Skateboarding is not a sport; we don’t have any couches telling us what we can and can’t do. We can literally do whatever we want on a skateboard, it is complete creativity and freedom. Skateboarding is an Art, a Lifestyle, a way to live. So pretty much we are artists selecting what spots we want to share our art on. Just like art there are unlimited amount of styles people can come up with. Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, Faust all are artists who create art and showcase them in many different ways. Van Gogh used a Style of paint, Pollock used a Style of Splatter, and Faust used a Style of calligraffiti. Even though all of these people are artists that have the same intentions, they all have a completely authentic style as to what they do and create. People think skateboarders just destroy property and disrespect security guards/police but they are not thinking outside the box and looking at the world like we do. Skateboarders have a different eye for everything they see in this world. For example you might see a pole sticking out of the ground that looks extremely dangerous. But we skaters would call that a pole jam, and our minds would open up and think about all the possibility’s and tricks that can be done on this obscure object. Just like Art, Skateboarding takes time and patience. You can’t just wake up one day and be like “Hey I’m going to land a 900 on a Vert Ramp today” but hey you never know. But most likely you won’t be able to stomp that out in a couple of tries. But in Reality learning to spin a 900 would take years to practice. Tony Hawk was the 1st person to ever land it, and it took him years to completely master. Skateboarding is all about building your craft and then…

Bored in the winter? Probably have nothing to do not that summer and spring is over? Don’t sit inside all day. Go outside, go snowboarding. Snowboard is better than sitting inside all day and playing on your phone. While snowboard you can feel the rush of wind and get your blood pumping.…
Having grown up in the Tahoe-Truckee area, participation in athletics and other team activities have taken up a vast majority of my fifteen years, and helped me find a variety of things I am passionate about. Though I am remarkably ardent about anything I embark in, skiing has always reigned victorious to all others. My participation in skiing has alluded me an outlet to escape from whatever outside sources weighed me down, and has given me the opportunity to meet a multitude of benevolent people while traveling in exemplary places. Participation in Squaw Valley Snow Sports has taught me a variety of lessons that I not only utilize on the mountain, but in my day to day life.…
Along with the physical and competitive attributes, the sport should be able to generate revenue and attract a viewing audience. This brings us to yet another inquisition: how could snowboarding as a high school sport meet these qualifications? If you have ever watched the “X-Games” or the Olympics, you would already know that snowboarding is undoubtedly a national sport that has many viewers and generates plenty of revenue. Is this not enough for the sport to branch off from professional and recreational…
Skateboarding was the first board sport to come into my life and I must give it the most credit for molding me into the boy I am today. It is not the board or the tricks, but the whole attitude that comes with it: The adrenaline pumping through your body as you outrun some overweight police officers and the excitement of learning something new every day. The best thing, I think skateboarding gave me was friendships; and although I am not good friends with some of the people I used to skate with, I have been able to build some wonderful friendships that I love and consider my family. Snowboarding has done good things for me as well, even though I have only been practicing it a year. I got into snowboarding when I came to the US. I was not able to practice it in my country because we do not have a winter season. Even though I hate to say this, I think snowboarding is more fun than skateboarding.…
The analysis conducted shows the importance of quantity production variability on the profit maximizing verge. A range of values is presented by four Regional Sales Managers; each region includes the minimum, most likely and maximum sales values of a random variable. The sample data is described as simple, limited, and somewhat scarce; therefore, given the grade of uncertainty, the most appropriate and suitable distribution to use is the Triangular distribution. The Monte Carlo Simulation from Microsoft Excel @Risk, will calculate “a model output value many times with different input values. The purpose is to get a complete range of all possible scenerios.”1…
I have been a professional skateboarder for 24 years. For much of that time, the activity that paid my rent and gave me my greatest joy was tagged with many labels, most of which were ugly. It was a kids' fad, a waste of time, a dangerous pursuit, a crime.…

A lot of other skaters and I think bikers should be banned from skate parks. “Why?” you are probably wondering to yourself. Well there isn’t enough room for 10-15 bikers and 20-30 skateboarders at a skate park. Most of the time bikers don’t watch out for skateboarders or their boards and expect the skaters to move out of their way, that’s how people end up being hit and skateboards become broken. Bikers also think they own the place taking up all the ramps and bowls.…
This may include going to play sports or joining clubs. Many of these young groups have a lot in common as they grow up however having this much time on their hands means that they can surely spend time with people of older age making the elder generation comfortable in being in places with groups of people. Having young kids spend time with their elders or even people in care homes allows the elder generation to understand that the society is not inclusive and they have nothing to be afraid of as many young people respect their…
forbid that children get their energy out and exercise in a fun manner. It gets worse. “a National Union of Students conference banned clapping as it might trigger trauma (‘please use jazz hands’, delegates were told)” (Tam). It isn’t only physical protection either. Parents want to shelter their kids from any kind of verbal conflict. I would like to provide an analogy for this. Turtles are born with soft shells and they develop through life experiences, however, if a mama turtle protects that baby turtle from everything the shell will stay soft. I believe this is what happened to Generation Snowflake and has resulted in their hypersensitivity. The second characteristic of Generation Snowflake is a sense of entitlement. This comes from the self-esteem culture that has developed over the year. Everyone is a special and unique snowflake, everyone gets a participation award, and there are never any “bad questions”. I hate to be a cold sense of reality, but there are bad questions, people shouldn’t get a award for just trying, and not everyone is special and unique. Howard Schwartz, professor emeritus of Oakland University, said that “political correctness and microaggressions, all stem from this idea that people operating under the notion of…
