So I Ain T No Good Girl Analysis

I Need Him Sharon Flake tells the story of a girl who is struggling with her relationship in “So I Ain’t No Good Girl.” The narrator would do anything and everything for her boyfriend. She deals with him looking at other girls and the fights they have as a couple just to keep on being his girlfriend. You could even say she favors boys over her education. Even though Raheem, the narrator’s boyfriend, is abusive; she still stays with him. Flake provides the narrator’s emotions throughout the whole story. She shows many examples of what the narrator has to put up with in “So I Ain’t No Good Girl.” All of the characters in the story are very likeable, except for the main characters which are the protagonist and the antagonist. In paragraph three, sentence three the author wrote “And right when I go tell her she better not think about looking my way.” Here you can see that the narrator takes her anger out too much on the three girls at her bus stop. The problem could grow worse because the narrator already doesn’t like the girl with the red hair for no reason at all. In paragraph two sentence two the narrator says “But I hate ‘em just the same, mostly ‘cause that girl with the red hair and grey eyes looks like the girl Raheem once left me for.” If this problem gets bigger the story would be more interesting. The story is very good. It gives the readers an idea of what some girls are capable of doing for a boy. “I’ll do your homework, wash your clothes, lend you money, anything… Just keep on being my boo.” The narrator just wants to be with her boyfriend and will do anything for this to be possible. Overall this is an interesting story about the struggles of a girl with her relationship. It will keep readers on the edge of their seats, wanting to know more about what will happen to the characters throughout the
