restroom.
It is great that we have at least one open, but there are students who have bladder conditions that may not have enough time to get to the other side of the school. In Parents magazine, it is discussed that limited bathroom use is not only an inconvenience, but it is also a health issue, “children who suppress the urge to urinate are also prone to infections” (Hodges, M.D.). The way I see it from most teenage point of views is that we absolutely hate being told what to do. As young adults responsibility is an essential trait. There is no way to learn responsibility when administration is constantly holding our hands. I would also like to stress the fact of the dismissal times for Soar 60. There should be a system put into consideration of having specific times for each grade level class to attend Soar 60. This would limit the majority of chaos and crazy
long lines. Also a well appreciated privilege would be allowing upperclassmen to leave campus during the hour. 86 percent of people agree that students should be allowed to leave campus for lunch, “ it allows students to become more independent” (unknown). This proposition would be for juniors and seniors who have maintained a B average or higher, this would be very beneficial; students gain a sense of dependability, and have accessibility to more filling and healthier lunches, lastly our greatest concern is Eagle Advisory. Eagle Advisory is one of the biggest inconveniences. Mondays are already a dread, not including going to a classroom where we are restrained to one area. We should be allowed to go wherever we need. Allow me to put this in a more relatable stance. Take for instance students who save non-demanding homework assignments for the weekend. You can expect homework questions to be reserved for Monday before class. Eagle Advisory should accommodate to these situations. Eagle Advisory is mostly spent sitting in chairs on phones and occasionally “ watching” the latest anti-drug slideshow. In conclusion we realize that this is the first year of this system so it is bound to be flawed so once more we thank you for this wonderful opportunity, and hope that you will take our suggestions into consideration so that in the years followed Soar 60 can achieve its maximum potential.
