Rule 8.01 discusses the general obligations that paralegals have when they operate their own practice. Paralegals who choose to start a practice have a financial obligation to their client, unless the paralegal states in writing that, “it is not to be a personal obligation of the paralegal” (Paralegal Rules of Professional Conduct, 2018). Pursuant to rule 8.01(3), a paralegal has to supervise staff and assistants when they are delegated tasks within the firm. A paralegal is not allowed to delegate to their staff to provide legal services, to be held out as a licensee, to perform any duties that a paralegal may perform or do things that paralegals themselves may not do. Hackers typically follow a five-step approach to seek out and destroy targeted hosts. The first step in performing an attack is to plan the attack by identifying the target and learning as much as possible about it. Hackers usually perform an initial reconnaissance and probing scan to identify IP hosts, open ports, and services enabled on servers and workstations. In this lab, you planned an attack on 172.30.0.0/24 where the VM server farm resides, and used the Zenmap GUI to perform an “Intense Scan” on the targeted IP subnetwork.…

As someone coming from a school that mostly lacks school spirit and being a person who is naturally timid and quiet, going to a school with a strong community and lots of school spirit can help me finally get out of my shell and gain better social skills. Though you can do this at any school with a large social life, being around a crowd of people who look like me and share similar experiences as I do can make things easier as I…

My early social experiences have contributed to my development and affected my educational experiences in a productive way. Throughout my years in school, I was not a student that was outspoken or had a lot of friends. I felt that I did not have time for socializing because I wanted to make the best out of my education. However, I participated in a lot of social events when I was younger. Being a Girl Scout in third grade taught me how to be sociable and work together with other people.…

I tried my best to fit in but arriving at a completely new area and having to make new friends was an extremely scary thought for me. I didn’t know anyone, I didn’t have any friends, and I felt isolated. All I wanted to do was go back to California to the familiar faces I left behind. As the year progressed, I was forced to break my shell and interact with others in my class gradually becoming more confident in myself and making new friends. The internal battles I had to endure in me becoming more social eventually taught me not to be afraid to build relationships. Learning this at an early stage was very beneficial to me because now I am not afraid to talk to complete strangers and even befriend…

Section 1: Social facilitation is influence observers have on peoples or animal’s behaviors (Myers, 2009). When we are being observed doing a complicated task, we tend to perform worse because the presence of others makes us nervous. On the other hand though if we are performing a simple task we perform better and faster than usual in front of an audience (Janowsky, 2010). When a pianist for instance is attempting to learn a new piece in the presence of his classmates, he is more likely to learn more slowly than if he were practicing alone at home. But if this were a piece he had been playing for years, he would play more beautifully in the presence of his audience than if he were alone at home. Social loafing is the difference of someone’s personal performance when he is in a group or alone. Research has shown that when in a group people tend to perform at lower levels than when being rated individually (Myers, 2009). Harkins & others 1980 tug-of-war experiment for example proves that each contestant pulls harder when he thinks he is pulling alone, but not as hard when he sees himself in a group (Myers, 2009). This can also be called free-riding because the individual is leaving more work up to the team than he should. Free-riding is often seen in class projects, when one or two teammates leave the majority of the assigned work for the others to do (Janowsky, 2010).…

ocial class has a large effect on the lifestyles of all Americans. But what does it really mean to be a part of the lower, middle or upper class? These divisions of social class are defined by aspects such as family income and lifestyle; however, education plays a large role in determining ones social class. That does not mean that it will determine success in ones life but to interpret, many people with a further education usually have a higher income as well. Those of the upper class have higher standards for education and career aspirations in contrast to those of the lower and middle class. Besides the differentiation of aspirations of the individuals of each social class, it is also used to determine who will go to college, depending on who can afford it or have no other priorities that can get in the way.…

Researchers have attempted to demonstrate the effects of social isolation on nonhuman primates raised without contact with others of their own species. In a series of laboratory experiments, the psychologusts Harry and Margaret Harlow(1962,1977) took infant rhesus monkeys from their mothers and isolated them in seperate cages. Each cage contained two nonliving "mother substitutes" made of wire, one with a feeding bottle. The infant monkeys instinctively clung to the cloth "mother" and would not abandon it until hunger drove them to the bottle attached to the wire "mother". As soon as they were full, they went back…

I’ve been seeing a 4th grade student who was having problems at the beginning of the school year because he was new to the United States and couldn’t speak any English. He was unable to communicate with his teachers or his peers in class. At times this left him feeling very frustrated. When conflict occurred in the yard during recess and he was unable to resolve it using verbal skills he resorted to biting and hitting. Several interventions were implemented. One intervention consisted of identifying and reinforcing positive school behaviors with the student. The intervention was also discussed with his family and they also agreed to reinforce the same messages at home. The theory that this was based on was the behaviorist psychologist…

Data analysis. Systems theory seems to be the common theme among both interviews and research literature when it comes to a theory base for school social work. This shows the importance for school social workers to include the student’s system their interventions in order to have the best outcomes.
