Social class has played a large part in the history of the world. Many times in certain countries, the only way to attain a high social class was either to be born into a wealthy family or marry into a family with a high social class. Although most people generally think that members of a high social class have a lot of money, which most do, one could just have royal blood, have virtually no money, and still have a high class. This creates a system where the rich, powerful, and influential people stay in the highest class and rarely come down. While the determining factor in deciding social class should rely first and foremost on hard work and perseverance, which is the American dream, it often relies on other things. If someone is born into a rich and powerful family, generally they do not have to make a name for themselves, since have their parents name to rely. Likewise, if you are born into a low-class family, you have to spend a large part of your life and resources trying to climb to the classes above you. Environment can also play a large part in determining social class. Depending on where you are born, it may be easier or harder to attain a higher class. Social Class has come a long way, but still has a long way to
