“During the Industrial Revolution many natural resources were being used up in a alarming rate.”(Kids Konnect) Although the Industrial Revolution did have positive outcomes, it came with negative effects such as bad sanitation, unemployment, and child labor.
Sooner or later bad sanitation would be a issue in the Industrial Revolution. With bad sanitation came diseases. “Some deadly diseases were Cholera, tuberculosis, typhus, typhoid, and influenza.”(BCC) “15,000 people died in London in the 1848-49 outbreak.”(History Learning) Those deaths were only from the disease Cholera. Since the homes of the people in cities weren’t widespread, disease spread more quickly. Bad Sanitation was a issue, but through the years public health mattered. “The first Public Health act was produced in 1848 after a Royal Commission made a set of recommendations.” The Public Health act was one step closer to better health of the people.

People would think that children at the time had to go to school, but instead the unfortunate children had to work. “In 1789, in Richard Arkwright’s new spinning factory, two-thirds of 1,150 factory workers were children.” (Ashton 93) Because children were preferred rather than adults more children worked in factories compared to men and some women. Not only did children have to work in dangerous factories, but their jobs didn’t have great wages.
