Firstly, the authors claim depends on a study that is statistically unreliable. There is no mention of when the study took place, the sample size of the study, the attributes of the sampled people such as their age, sex, profession, lifestyle, eating habits etc. Without comprehensive date it is impossible to support authors claim that social dancing delayed dementia.

But 21 years may not be sufficient time to study the effects of aging since aging is a lifelong process. We also do not know the age of participants in the survey. If the participants were young adults and the study went on till they were middle aged adults, then introduction of social dancing in old age home whether residents are more than 60 years old does nothing to delay dementia.
Lastly, the author believes that residents would save money. The delayed onset of dementia would not require residents to shift to assisted living quarters which are expensive that independent living quarters. But there is not guarantee that residents would actually do that. The author claim rests on the assumption that people only move because they suffer from dementia. But there are other reasons too for making the switch. The residents could be suffering from arthritis, Alzheimer's or any other old age diseases. Or the residents are just old and need help with everything. Therefore there is no guarantee that residents would save money if social dancing is introduced in the Old age
