and middle class people had these luxuries. All around Carnegie gives a very solid and very thought out speech/document, on the way one should administer his/her wealth, the ever changing society, tough choices employers face, impact they all have on other people and the way people should use their wealth for good. In the life of an average coal miner, it really ties into with many of the things Carnegie believes but not in the sense of the whole Social Darwinism and Social Gospel, it’s more of them (meaning the working people) wanting to one day become wealthy.
The coal miner starts his speech/document with how a young boy begins his day and how he prepares for the long treacherous work day filled with raw and excruciating conditions. He also makes it a point to talk about how when they first start out as breaker boy he already has ambitions of becoming something higher than what he is now. The dreams of these boy’s is to one day be a coal miner and get paid lots to one day become a wealthy person, and thorough hard work they will one day be
achieved. In this way these to speeches/document share similarities because they both talk about how if one wishes to become some one important or wealthy you must already have that hunger that want to be willing to achieve that goal.
